When to Use a Handyman

A handyman has a variety of tools and can perform a wide range tasks in one sitting. He is more of a generalist rather than a specialist. A tradesman, by comparison, is a skilled laborer that has finely honed his craft in a particular field--think plumber, electrician, carpenter or mason.

While a handyman can certainly perform basic repairs or additions in any of the above fields, a tradesman should be the one to perform major tasks or new work within that particular field. If you have a list of repairs to be made around the house, a handyman can likely perform them all without needing to consult a tradesman. But to dive any deeper into a particular trade--rewiring a house, upgrading a plumbing system, installing a new retaining wall--will require a tradesman.

To put it simply, if you'd trust the handiest person you know to get it done, I can probably do it. But if there's any doubt, send me a
text, email, or fill our this service request form.
